Watch out!
for the Squatter Pigeon
VulnerableBy Terry, age 9
In this picture, I drew 2 squatter pigeons standing back-to-back on dry land. They are alerted and looking after each other. I used brown, yellow and orange colours to show their dry and natural environment. I also drew lots of animal footprints around the pigeons. The footprints represent predators and agricultural land clearing - such as foxes, feral cats, and cattles which can be dangerous to squatter pigeons and their eggs. I am trying to show that squatter pigeons are in danger and need to be protected. I want people to understand that they have many threats around them, and that we should protect their habitat so they can survive
