Together We Survive

My artwork captures the unique bond between two Australian native species: the endangered Matted Flax-Lily and the Blue banded bee. These species rely on each other to survive through a fascinating behaviour called "buzz pollination".The Lily needs the bee's specific vibrations to release pollen, while the bee depends on the flower for food. Sadly,due to rapid urban expansion, our native grasslands are breaking up into small, isolated patches. Because the blue banded bee can only fly a few hundred metres, it can no longer travel between these divided plants. This threatens the survival of both species. Through my art, I want to highlight the delicate bond and show that we can help protect our native wildlife. Even small, simple actions, like putting native plants in pots or reporting illegal land clearing, can make a hugh difference. Australia is incredibly lucky to have such extraordinary plants and animals. By protecting our wildlife we ensure future generations can grow up seeing them too.
