Through the Flame

I was inspired to paint the Northern Corroboree frog because it is one of Australia's most endangered animals. Even though it is small, it faces big dangers such as bushfires, climate change and losing its habitat. In my painting, the frog is surrounded by smoke and fire to show how scary and difficult these natural disasters are for wildlife. I used saturated and glowing colours to capture the fire and to contrast the frog's vulnerability in the harsh environment. To me, the Northern Corroboree frog stands for courage, hope and the importance to protect nature. I hope my artwork helps people to understand and care for Australia's wildlife.
