The maugean skate is an endangered species Of ray that has been around since the dinosaurs. Last year, i went to a documentary premier by spencer hitchens, about the maugean skate. He advocates and raises awareness to all sorts of endangered species, but he was down in tasmania to talk about the maugean skate, his goal was to raise awareness to the fish farms (the main reason there endangered) so when i was looking for art compitions i came across the wild for art compitition and the maugean skate was the first animal that came to my mind.
