The Lonely Turtle
for the Loggerhead Turtle
EndangeredBy Betty, age 11
This turtle is the Loggerhead Turtle. They spend most of their lives in shallow coastal water and open ocean. I chose this animal because of it's unique features, being it's oversized head and powerful jaws. Their survival is also very important to many marine animals, they have to reach nearly 30yrs old to reproduce and this puts them in danger of not reproducing and their long-term survival is important. Human threats put this animal in an endangered species, such as drowning by accidental commercial fishing, fatal boat injuries, caught in nets, disruption of nests on beaches and swallowing of marine plastics both to juvenile and adult turtles.
