The little pea among the flames
for the Grampians Globe-pea
Critically EndangeredBy Mimi, age 10
The Grampians Globe-pea is one of the rarest wildflowers in Australia. It only grows naturally in one place in the whole world, the Grampians in Victoria. The biggest threat to this little precious flower is bushfires, and as our summers get hotter and hotter, the risk continues to increase. I hope that this little gem of a plant finds its way through the flames. I burnt this wood to symbolise the extreme heat that these plants cannot survive.
