for the Dusky Sea Snake

When I learned about the Dusky Sea Snake, I was surprised that such a beautiful animal could be endangered. Many people are afraid of snakes, but I discovered that they are an important part of nature. They help keep the ocean ecosystem healthy by maintaining the balance between different species. In my painting, I imagined the Dusky Sea Snake resting peacefully among colourful sea plants and coral. I used bright flowers and flowing shapes to show that the underwater world is full of life, beauty, and wonder. The snake is looking straight at us because I want people to stop, look closely, and see it in a different way—not as something to fear, but as an animal that deserves our respect and protection. The warm orange background represents the changing environment, reminding us that pollution, climate change, and damage to marine habitats are making life harder for many sea creatures. The blue water flowing around the snake symbolises hope, showing that if we care for our oceans, nature can recover. I hope my artwork encourages people to protect Australia's marine life.
