The Critically Endangered Cockatoo

for the Major Mitchell's Cockatoo

Endangered

By Sonny, age 5

My name is Sonny and I am five years old and I am autistic. This animal is critically endangered. I think it is very beautiful. I like it is my favourite colour. They are very clever. I made this artwork because the Major Mitchell Cockatoo is critically endangered. I used grid drawing with pencil, then traced with permanent marker. I used a mixture of water colour paint and pencil colouring in to add all the colour. I care about endangered animals because they might be extinct soon. That is bad because if one animal dies, it's like the whole earth has died. It is in a tree hollow. I have learned about tree hollows, they can take many many years to develop and animals need them to nest in and survive. Thank you.
