Located in Eastern Queensland, the Zamia Palm (Cycas megacarpa) grows in open forests, typically on slopes and hilly terrain. I chose to draw it because of its unique shape and its remarkable ability to survive bushfires with minimal damage. However, due to habitat loss and urbanisation, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find in the wild.
