Ocean Explorer

I painted the green sea turtle because it is a beautiful Australian marine animal that needs our help. They are threatened by plastic pollution in our oceans and climate change warming the beaches where they lay their eggs. I used watercolours to capture the turtle swimming through the Great Barrier Reef, using bright yellow and brown tones to make it pop against the deep blue ocean. I used a wax resist technique to create realistic ocean bubbles. We must protect our oceans so these amazing sea turtles can survive safely.
