Mother Night Parrot's Moonlit Eggs

This is a painting of a mother Night Parrot guarding her four eggs very carefully under the moonlight. She is nocturnal and found only in Australia. Night Parrots face many threats like bush fires, foxes and feral cats. They only take to the air when panicked or when searching for food and water. Night Parrots eat seeds of Triodia grasses and herbs. They are critically endangered and have a population of about 40-500 but we don't really know! Night Parrots are one of the most elusive and mysterious birds in the world!
