Long-tongued, termite-munching numbat

My drawing depicts a cute numbat searching for termites on a fallen log. Numbats are unique endangered Australian marsupials. Recognisable by its distinctive back stripes and long slender tongue, the numbat once ranged widely across Australia. Sadly, habitat loss, limited food sources and introduced predators have drastically reduced their wild population. I painted this scene to capture the numbat’s gentle nature within its eucalyptus woodland home. I hope my artwork can raise awareness and remind everyone to protect these precious Australian native creatures, so they can thrive in the wild for years to come.
