Lilo and Poppy the Numbat
for the Numbat
EndangeredBy Jasmin, age 7
One day Lilo the Numbat and Poppy the Numbat lived in Western Australia in the forest. They both had fluffy orange, white and black stripes, black medium sized eyes and were calm soft and friendly. In the forest there were jasmine flowers, logs, trees, termites, plants, grass and butterflies. Lilo and Poppy are best friends they ate termites together and played games together. That was until foxes and feral cats came. The foxes growled and invaded the forest with the cats. Lilo and Poppy are scared and worried as they looked at the cat's sharp claws. All the termites disappeared. One week passes then another until one day the government and a very good vet went to go find the two numbats. The vet looked where the numbats were endangered and saw the location- it was 25 minutes away. Once they got there, they got termites and made sure the numbats were okay. Then everything went back to normal and Lilo and Poppy kept playing in the forest. They felt grateful and happy that the forest was back to normal. The end.
