Koala

for the Koala

Endangered

By Daniel, age 9

Koalas are one of Australia’s most special native animals, but they are in danger because they are losing their forest homes from bushfires and climate change. In my painting, I drew a mother koala carrying her baby joey safely on her back while holding onto a eucalyptus tree. I painted a starry night sky behind them to show hope and a peaceful home where they can live happily. We need to protect eucalyptus trees so koalas and their babies can always have a safe place to stay.
