Koala

for the Koala

Endangered

By Behta, age 10

Koalas in NSW and QLD are officially endangered. The reason is due to habitat loss, climate change, diseases such as Chlamydia and bushfires. As humans clear land for building, it causes deforestation which leads to habitat loss for the koalas. Every year hundred of koalas are killed due to cars hitting them Also dogs that move through the suburban backyards expose koalas to domestic and feral dog attacks which leads to the high rate of dead koalas.
