Divine Daintree

for the Endangered flora and fauna of Daintree Rainforest

Imagine an amazing scene of rivers and streams glistening through the forest. Southern cassowaries peck on ripe Cooper Creek walnuts. Bennett’s tree kangaroos leap in Daintree satinashes. Energetic Victoria’s riflebirds sing beautiful tunes. Amazing spotted-tailed quolls run through divine flora, such as Daintree gardenias, ant plants, wild bananas, Cooper Creek satinashes, and Russell River limes.   This groupwork acknowledges the sacred and endangered Daintree Rainforest with its dreamlike species. The 40 of us used a canvas for the first layer, recycled cardboard as the drawing base for the animals, some gumnuts we collected for the fruit, and mostly acrylic for painting.   Unfortunately, Daintree faces multiple threats like burning, logging, and illegal 4WD driving that impact both its habitats and inhabitants. Endangered species can’t simply be rehomed or replanted! Environmentalists increasingly suggest that if we continue making a mess, our planet won’t be the same. We do not want that, do we!?
