A Fragile Bloom

for the Matted Flax-lily

Endangered

By Olivia, age 10

My artwork features the endangered Matted Flax Lily (Dianella amoena) and two Blue-banded Bees. I chose this flower because it is a beautiful Australian native plant that is becoming rare due to habitat loss. By including the bees, I wanted to show the important relationship between native plants and pollinators. Through this artwork, I hope to encourage people to appreciate and help protect Australia’s unique and threatened wildlife.
